I sighed as sat down in the grass. Today was a beautiful afternoon where any dream could come true. Actually, today a dream does come true. My graduation from Namimori High.
I smiled as I had dreamed of this moment for a while; no more schooling for me. Unlike the others, I won’t be going to college; I’ll be able to dedicate my time to my job as the Varia Mist Guardian. The job now entitles me to protect Tsuyoshi-kun, my boss, and the main family from disasters.
I put cap on my head (I had didn‘t put my hair up today), soon it’ll be time to walk down the stage outside, where the sakuras, my favorite flower, are blooming. Soon, it’ll be time for the valedictorian to give her speech. To be more accurately correct, it would be time to give my speech. I had, not only been the president of the disciplinary committee for all four years, but made the grades to be the top of my class. All that work paid off because this day, this moment was the most joyous moment ever.
I stood up as I heard the school band start to play. Soon our headmaster will start the graduation ceremony. I quickly
scanned the crowd as I saw many family members and relatives of other families watch as they were about to see their child get the diploma.
I sort of sighed as I looked down in my lap. I had no family for support. My mom and dad died due to an attack on the Vongola Famiglia in an attempt to get my Lens, the legendary Daemon Spade’s Devil Lens. The only family that I truly have is Tsuyoshi.
Tsuyoshi is a year older than me. He is like my big brother, caring for me and watching out for me. His parents were also killed by a rival mafia family; however, he joined the Vongola-Varia; whereas I, was born into the Vongola Family, seeing how my great-great-great-great grandfather was Daemon Spade.
Although, Tsuyoshi is my “brother;” he wasn’t here today. It wasn’t because he had better things to do; it was due to something coming up that required the soon to be Varia’s boss. Even though I wanted so much for him to be here and see me, I’m glad he wasn’t here today; actually, I uninvited him to the graduation ceremony when I found out certain things.
“Attention, attention. We would all like to thank you for coming today. We shall now kick off this graduation with the speech from the Valedictorian.” I little smiled as he was calling for me. “This girl has done very well in her years here. Not only having the top grades, but she is also the head of the disciplinary committee. Let me introduce to you, Nagi-” He stopped as one of the students gave him some information. “I’m sorry people; it seems that she isn’t here. So, we will now hear a speech from the salute Victorian.” A tear came in my eye.
It was true.
I wasn’t at my own graduation. I was standing on a hill at a far distance, watching everything take place. I watched as everyone obtained their diploma and shook hands with the headmaster. My hand turned into a fist as I held tightly to my already received one.
Not even on this day, I could not be normal. I wiped my tear away. The only reason I wasn’t there was because of the Mafioso, the Varia.
Then the last speech was made about how we should go on, finish our schooling, getting a job, raising families, things that I may never have. I won’t go to college directly; I will be in Varia but go to a very private college. I won’t be getting a normal job; I’ll be in the Mafia. I won’t be raising a family soon either. Like I could find any kind guy in the mafia; even if I could, I may not be able to bring myself up to raise a child into this life.
Soon everyone threw there caps up in praise. I sighed as I took my off and threw it too. I smiled as I watched it go up in the air. Although, a man, who had been with me this whole time, came up to me and put a hand on my shoulder. “Nagi Spade-san, we need to go. It’s getting too close to the dead line.”
I turned to face the driver. “Right.” I said as I pulled my blue hair up into a low pony tail. I grabbed my bag and got in the car.
When I got inside, I looked at my darkened window. I didn’t go to my own graduation because I was needed on assassination mission here in Japan. I had no time to enjoy my graduation party or graduate with them. I should’ve left ten minutes ago, but I’ll manage that time loss.
My mission today was to take out some people who threatened to harm the soon to be Vongola Boss, Sawada Shinichi. All in this afternoon. I sighed as quietly pulled my gun out. “Arivederci~” I pulled the trigger and killed the driver. He was one of my three targets. I quickly used my illusions and jumped out of the car which was now driving towards a cliff. I smirked as I walked on, not paying attention to the big explosion that occurred. “Now, you show up.” I smirked as my other opponents came out.
I easily defeated them and took back the files on us that they had stolen. I stuffed the folders in my bag and got my pocket watch out. “I knew time would make up the time.” I smiled but that smile soon faded when I realized that I had to walk to the Vongola Base. “Great.” I started to walk towards the Vongola base; more specifically, to the mist, cloud entrance that Hibari-san uses found at Namimori Shrine.
As I walked to the Shrine, I thought about my graduation ceremony and how that, even though I missed it, I still had my Inheritance Ceremony for Varia. There will be more parties and graduations whether they be mine or not.
